Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if it’s being used. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media
If you are a registered user and upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images with EXIF location tags. Site visitors can download and read the full location data from images on the site.
Cookies
If you comment on the site, you can choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. This will allow you to easily access your information when you leave subsequent comments. Cookies expire after one year.
If you visit the login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies expire after two days, and screen display options after one year. If you select „Remember me,” your login will expire after two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Sites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the user had visited the other website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking systems, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who We Share Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the email sent.
How Long We Keep Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve subsequent comments automatically without sending them to moderation every time.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. Any user can view, correct, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username, which cannot be changed). Site administrators can also view and modify this information.
What rights do you have over your data?
If you have a user account or have left comments on this site, you can request an exported file containing all of the personal data we hold about you, including all of the data you have provided. You can also request that we delete all of the personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obligated to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where will we send your data?
Guest comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
